Colour is immensely important to him and he was greatly influenced by Pierre Bonnard and Mark Rothko. He is intensely interested in studying language and definition of colours as well as symbolism of them.

He spends a lot of time to organise and arrange his compositions arduously, making detailed sketches, drawings and above all watercolours and pastels to work out the forms, colours and declensions of tones. His final paintings (mainly oils or tempera techniques) sometimes have the look of spontaneity but execution was only possible for him after months of preparation. His style continues to evolve.
